MerpCon V - Day 1 - Finished onward to day 2.

We had a blast...

MerpCon V - Day 1 - Finished onward to day 2.

Michael Martinez GMing Table 1 at Merpcon V

Some of the registration printing was last minute, and unfortunately Michael was a bit late, but we did get rolling.

Had to do some clean up of some premade characters, and some were a bit heavy on the magic items, but did some cleanup.

Table 1 started about an hour late, and we're not quite finished with Adventure 1, but getting close to the final battle. We finished the first battle. Interrogated the orcs. Found the elf. He lead us to the orc camp. We captured a Man there, and found evidence that orcs (and other nasties) just left that camp area not long before we arrived. We've lost some time debating how to proceed though, and it is now nightfall...

Table 2 reports the game running a little slow, but after speaking with Skylar, should be able to speed that up Saturday. They only just finished the first battle, interrogating the captured orcs, and finding the Elf.

Table 3 finished at 11:15 pm (only went over schedule 15 minutes). The completed the adventure. That group will have a different GM at the same table for sessions 2 and 3 Saturday, then resume this campaign on Sunday for adventure 2. Sounds like they had a blast. They played some rules mongering manipulation with magic it sounds like, but apparently enjoyed. They'll be playing in a Harnmaster campaign tomorrow.

Michael has been a hoot as GM and ued some interesting techniques I've enjoyed seeing in his style. He's a bit rusty on the mechanics, but Chris and I have been able to help out there. There has been a pleasant dynamic with the folks in thie group, and the youngest, Jackson, has done a great job fitting right in. To think he's only been RPGing since I introduced him to it only 2 years ago. He has done very well. The group still isn't fully gelled yet, but you can see it getting there already. And lots of fun laughing, even on topic to the adventure most of the time (unusual). All in all, a very pleasant time.

If you participated in any of these games, please either comment on this article, or post in the forums, I would love to read your "war stories" and feedback on the adventure and the event.

Onward to Saturday!
